Q. Why should I send my aircraft to JETS?
A. At JETS we believe in being flexible, this means that we will adapt to suit your operation, to minimize your down time and allow you to do what you do best i.e. keep flying. Simply put we believe “ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL”!!!
Q. I am tied into a maintenance contract with another maintenance provider. Doesn’t this mean that I can’t send my aircraft to anyone else?
A. Most maintenance agreements are not exclusive in that the operator can still send their aircraft to another maintenance facility. This is because operators need a level of flexibility to cover situations where the aircraft is AOG, or your existing maintenance provider does not have a slot available.
Q. Isn’t it cheaper to send my aircraft to the United States for larger maintenance inspections?
A. The cost of the ferry flight (circa $20K) from Europe can be prohibitive. The current Euro/Pound and Dollar/Pound exchange rate makes our labour rates competitive. We believe in offering comprehensive quotations with no hidden surprises. We would be happy to try and match any offer that you have received from the USA.
Q. How will I ensure that cost is kept to a minimum?
A. We will update you every step of the way with regular progress reports of findings on the aircraft and financial updates of all additional expenditure. Prior to starting work we agree set parameters for us to work within, for example material spending limits and we will stick to these.
Q. Is JETS an approved Service Centre by Hawker Beechcraft or Bombardier?
At JETS we believe in providing value for money. To become an approved service centre we would have to increase our man hour rates and provide spares at OEM list prices. This would prevent us from shopping around for the best deals with suppliers and increase the cost of maintenance to our customers.
Q. Will I invalidate my warranty if I don’t go to an approved Service Centre?
Manufacturers usually warrant the airframe for a period of 2 to 5 years. They will often pressure you to take the aircraft to an approved service centre for warranty. You do not have to do this to claim warranty.
It is unusual to find problems with the airframe during the warranty period (component based warranty is usually excluded by the manufacturer).
JETS can make a warranty claim on your behalf. The main proviso for warranty is that the aircraft has been maintained properly in accordance with manufacturer’s schedule.
Q. What credit terms does JETS offer?
A. We are happy to extend credit terms after establishment of a payment track record. Normally we request a deposit with the balance being payable upon completion of the maintenance inspection.
